QuickOffice: Bought by Google

Google has acquired mobile office software company Quickoffice. Details of the acquisition were yet not disclosed. It is Google’s second major acquisition this week, after the instant messaging service Meebo.

Quickoffice was launched in 1997, to provide mobile office document software for devices running Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android operating systems, allowing users to open, view and edit Microsoft Office files with complete document data integrity. It has an established track record of enabling seamless interoperability with popular file formats.
