London company first to offer free WIFi on the go

People in London will soon have web connectivity via WiFi. Greentomatocars, London’s second largest minicab service has announced free WiFi connectivity in all of its cars.

The company has announced that all of its 300 cars will offer passengers free WiFi connectivity from tomorrow. This will make the company the first cab company in Europe to do so.

The web connectivity will be powered by individual SIM cards in each cab, enabling download speeds of up to 7.2Mbit/s and upload speeds of up to 2Mbit/s. Passengers travelling with the company simply need to use the password ilovefreewifi to access the service.

“London has long been recognised as a hub for technological innovation. In 2008 it was named the WiFi capital of the world and in 2012 I think it would be fair to say it’s now the free WiFi capital,” said Greentomatocars founder Jonny Goldstone.
